St. Anthony of Padua Prayer Ministry of St. Laurence Catholic Church, Sugar Land brings together the young and old alike, to honor St. Anthony of Padua and pray for his intercession helping to deepen their devotion to Jesus. This ministry caters the harmonious gathering of devotees from all Christian denominations and religious affiliations to pray and worship in the Catholic tradition, through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and Novena on Tuesdays. It encourages the attendees to remember that God, in his love, may have his own way of answering their prayers. This devotion had started at St. Laurence in April 1997 with annual feast celebrated on the Saturday close to the feast day of the Saint (June 13) and continues to attract many, particularly young adults who may be on the verge of leaving their faith, by helping them to recommit themselves to the Catholic faith.
The service consists of reciting Holy Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 6:30 PM and Holy Mass at 7:00 PM followed by the novena to the Saint. It is offered at the Church on first Tuesdays of the month, and at the Divine Mercy Chapel on other Tuesdays.
